VersaBet game files updates
Important Note: The game databases in the download package will overwrite any VersaBet game databases of the same name that are presently in your VersaBet directory. Be sure to back up any game databases you wish to preserve before running the installation.

All game database are in the VersaBet format and are currently up to date through Saturday, May 3, 2008. To download your game database, click on the link for your state or game name.

The game files are updated each Sunday to include the preceding week. Update your data when you fall behind by downloading these files. You can download one single self-extracting file that contains all of the games, or you can download the games, by state, individually. The Multi-State games are not included in the files for the states in which they are played but are listed separately.

The individual files are compressed in the 'zip' format and require an unzipping utility to extract their contents. If you don't have one you can download a fully working free trial version of WinZip from the WinZip web site.

Please note: If you need support in zipping or unzipping files beyond what is offered below, please consult the help file supplied with your zip utility or contact the manufacturer of that product.

Updating your VersaBet Game Files

VersaBet Game files are the files that contain the game drawing number history of your game. These may be updated manually from within the software by entering any missing game drawing results one drawing at a time (see the individual user manuals for details) or may be brought up to date by downloading and installing the latest replacement game files available on this page.

In order to update your game files by downloading the replacements you will need to have access to certain tools and knowledge of how to use them. Since almost all of the VersaBet game file updates are in the 'zip' format, the first tool you will need is a zip manager such as WinZip mentioned above. This tool is not normally furnished with Windows. The purpose of a zip manager is to open a zip file that you have downloaded from our web site and to then extract its contents into the folder of your choice (normally a folder that contains one of the VersaBet programs).

The other tools you will need are 'My Computer' and 'Windows Explorer' (not Internet Explorer). Any person who uses a computer should become very familiar with at least one of these two programs. These are supplied with every version of Windows and knowledge of how to use them is absolutely essential to working effectively with your computer. With these tools it is possible to locate any folder or file on your hard drive and copy, move, rename, or delete them. You can also use them to create new folders on your hard drive. These functions are basic to computer use and you cannot get by without knowing how to perform them.

Note: Please do not contact us for support on proper use of the above tools. All of the information that you need in order to use My Computer or Windows Explorer is found in the Windows help system. Your zip manager program will have its own built-in help as well. If you get stuck, contact the manufacturer of the software. We do not provide support for other manufacturers products nor do we provide instruction on basic computer use.

Downloading the Zipped Game Files
Downloading the zipped game file is simple; click on the name for the file you wish to download from the table above, select the 'Save' option (not the 'Open' option) from the dialog box that appears, select a folder on your hard drive to save the file to (be sure you remember which one you selected so you can find the file later), check the 'File Name' text box to make sure you have selected the correct file, then click on the 'Save' button to start the download. Note that these instructions are for using the Internet Explorer web browser. If you are using some other web browser you may see some variations, but the basic procedure remains the same.

After you have successfully downloaded the zipped game file you are ready to extract its contents. Close your Internet browser and open either 'My Computer' or 'Windows Explorer'. Navigate to the folder in which you saved the file so that you can see the contents, and then double-click on the file name you downloaded for the file you downloaded. Double-clicking on the file name of the zip file should automatically start your zip manager program and display the contents of the zip file.

Extracting the Data From the Zipped Game Files
Depending on which zip manager you are using (we recommend WinZip in the 'Classic' mode rather than the 'Wizard' mode) you will see a display of the names of the individual game files contained within the zip file. It is these game files that must be extracted to the folder (also called a 'directory') that contains the VersaBet program.

The most common procedure for extracting the files is to click on the 'Extract' toolbar button. This usually brings up a dialog box that lets you select all or just some of the files, and lets you specify the destination for the extracted files through use of a list box that shows the drives and folders available on your computer. VersaBet programs are normally installed on the C:\ drive. The folder for Intelli-Pick and Lottery Manager 4 is normally called VersaBet. The folder for VersaBet Three-Four is normally called VersaBet34. Depending on which program you are installing the files for, you would click on the list box until the correct drive/folder combination is highlighted and then click on the 'Ok' button to extract the files. There is also usually an option button for specifying whether or not to overwrite existing files of the same name. When working with VersaBet files, this option should be 'On', meaning yes - overwrite the older files.

Important Note: Your VersaBet software should not be running while the files are being updated. Close any running VersaBet program before extracting the updated game files. The next time you start the program your game(s) will be up-to-date through the date shown in red near the top of this page.
